Berel privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
Berel is an AI chavrusa for learning Torah by voice, at berel.letslearntorah.com. This page explains what Berel keeps and why.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign in by email or with Google. With Google sign-in we receive only your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and we keep only the email address.
- Sign-in records: the time, your IP address and your browser type, so we can keep the service secure.
- Your conversations with Berel (what you said and what Berel answered), and texts or pages you upload or links to shiurim you share.
- Audio is processed live to understand you and to speak back. We save the written transcript, not recordings.
How we use it
- To run Berel: sign you in, keep your saved conversations and uploads, and email you a transcript after a session.
- To improve Berel: conversations may be reviewed and used to improve Berel's answers.
- We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Services we use
Berel runs on Google Cloud. Speech and answers are processed by ElevenLabs and Google Gemini. Torah texts come from Sefaria. Sign-in and transcript emails are sent through Google Workspace. Each processes data only to provide its part of the service.
Your choices
You can delete saved conversations and uploads in the app. To have all your data deleted, or for any question, email berel@lnwdirect.com.
